The City of Parks

Surrey has worked hard to create a City Centre with an abundance of green parks, walkways and bike paths. With over 400 parks, the City of Surrey is known as the ‘City of Parks’ and that stays true for its beautifully green city centre. Hop on a bike and tour the City Centre’s bikeway system or bring your dog along for a walk in any one of our stunning, local nature trails.

Tom Binnie Park

The park includes a playground, turf field, and outdoor basketball courts. Tom Binnie Park hosts the BC Lions practice facility, as well as the new Chuck Bailey Recreation Centre.

Holland Park

Located right beside Central City, this vibrant urban park includes art installations, water fountains and amazing trails. The park is best known for its contribution to the Surrey community by hosting a variety of events year-round including its annual Fusion Festival, Movies under the Stars, and was recently the Surrey Winter Olympic Celebration Site.

Whalley Athletic Park

The Whalley Athletic Park is home to the Whalley Little League who have represented Canada at the World Little League Championships many times over. This peaceful park is a great place for a picnic and time at the playground. It hosts soccer fields, baseball diamonds and many walking paths for the athlete in all of us!

Recreational Facilities

Our recreational programs offer everything from hockey and swimming to painting and dance. Surrey City Centre’s abundance of parks and recreation keep our community members both healthy and creative! North Surrey Recreation Centre

Located right at the footsteps of Surrey Central Skytrain Station, the North Surrey Recreation centre is a vibrant facility with pools, ice arenas, a huge weight room and fitness gyms. The facility hosts ice hockey leagues, offers lessons in ice skating, programs for adults and seniors, as well as lessons for swimming. The centre is also conveniently located by Central City Shopping mall, Surrey Central Bus Loop and Simon Fraser University.

Chuck Bailey Recreation Centre

This brand new 20,000 square feet facility has a full court gym, youth skate park, and many multipurpose rooms. Along with its athletic programs, the recreation centre offers a variety of community programs with a strong focus on youth. Originally built to provide a Games Preparation Centre for the 2010 Olympic volunteers, The Chuck Bailey Recreation Centre is now a legacy building of the 2010 Olympic Games.

Guildford Recreation Centre

The Guildford Recreation Centre is the biggest recreation centre in the Guildford and Fraser Heights community.

• Three Gymnasiums
• Skate Park
• Seniors Lounge
• Youth Lounge and child minding services.

City Centre Library

Surrey Public Library boasts 7 branches and over a quarter million members. The library offers specialized programs and services for kids, teens, new Canadians and seniors, including career & job searches, online learning, genealogy programs and English language labs.
